Quotation / Delivery Time / Schedule
Q.: How much time do you need to quote ?
A.: Unless the product has a very specific construction usually a quotation for a mold is send the next day after we receive enquiry with all the necessary details.
Q.: I would like to get a quotation but the product is not yet protected by patent. Can you guaranty that my idea will be sufficiently protected if I send it to you ?
A.: If you feel uncomfortable about protection of your idea, we can sign a non disclosure agreement before you send us any data. Customers who do not have their own version of such agreement can download a copy from here. ( CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD )
Q.: What do you need to make a quotation ?
A.: To make quotation which will be adequate and sufficiently competitive, we need 3 things: 1. Product drawing or 3D model data file or product sample.
If none of these are available, we need at least an ordinary sketch with the most critical dimensions of the product on it.
2. Kind of plastic resin you are going to use in manufacturing or an idea of the durability of the product ( what the product is or does ).
3. Estimated quantity of the product needed in a period of time ( i.e. one month ) and the idea of how many products in total you are going to make ( estimated total sales ).
Q.: How long does it take to build an injection mold ?
A.: It varies a little depending on product size and complexity of its shape, but generally in case of Dukheung a middle size molds are built in 45 days lead time.
Q.: I would like to have my mold built faster than you quoted. Is it possible ?
A.: Dukheung's mold bulding lead time does not belog to the lengthy ones. On special request from clients and depending on our work load it is some times possible to make mold faster though the advancement cannot be big, just a few days.
Q.: Is it possible without a visit in your company to know whether my mold is being built on schedule ?
A.: On clients requests we are giving a detailed mold bulding schedule and send weekly raports. The raport may have digital pictures that show the progress of work.

Mold Life/Quality/After Service/Export
Q.: What is the life expectancy of molds ?
A.: Mold life depends the most on the kind of tooling steel used, the precision of mold building and mold maintanace quality during production. Usually plastic injection molds can stand without a problem 250 thousand shots and die casting molds 70 thousand shots. The life expectancy can be lenghtened or shortened by choosing appropriate for it kind of steel. Dukheung is always guarantying its molds life.
Q.: What is the guaranty that our mold will be well built ?
A.: Please, refer to "Why to Choose Us"

Q.: What Dukheung is guarantying with regard do mold quality ?
A.: Craftmanship, materials, mold life.
Q.: How can I get after service from Dukheung ?

Mold Price/Payment Conditions
Q.: Why molds are so expensive ?
A.: Majority of mold cost are materials and machining costs. What follows is that the product structure, materials used, number of cavities, and mold size influence the price the most. The cost can start from a few thousand to more than 100 thousand USD. Trying to say whether mold is expensive or not, is possible only knowing all of those mentioned, how they were taken into the quotation. For this reason Dukhung provides a detailed calculation of all the costs on quoting.
Q.: I got almost 20% more competitive quotation from another company. What is the reason for that ?
A.: There are always 3 factors that have to be balanced and are reflected in every quotation: mold quality, delivery time and price. Quatations given by Dukheung have the 3 things well harmonized. The reason that you got a more competitive quotation for the same product is lying somewhere in that harmony.
Q.: What kind of payment conditions do you accept ?
A.: Usually we accept standard payment conditions - that is: 30% of downpayment, 60% on mold trials and 10% on mold delivery. The conditions may be however adjusted, particularly in case of bigger contracts. The preferable forms of payment are wire transfers and letters of credit. Very often we use a combination of those.
Q.: Is is possible to build a mold for a price cheaper than I received in Dukheung's quotation ?
A.: There are many cases which we can notice when mold requirements are too exagerated because of difficulties in exact defining of necessary product parameters . It is therefore extremally important to share with us all the information about the product, its use, functions etc. This wil help us to look for a way to reduce costs given on quotation and in result your cost of mold.

Mold Size/Mold Repairs/Other
Q.: Dukheung manufactures medium and larger size molds. I have a smaller product which I would like to have mold built for. Can you make it ?
A.: Using the facilities we have we can make molds of various sizes up to 15 tons in weight, also for small, precision parts. However its is our policy not to accept orders for small parts. Of course for special reasons and if a products is an assembly and also has some small parts in it we are making all of the molds.
Q.: Is Dukheung Engineering manufacturing only mass production molds for injection molding and die casting processes?
A.:Usually we make only molds for mass production though it sporadically happens that we are also building prototypes.
Q.: What if I want to make changes to the mold at a later date ?
A.:Changes can usually always be made. However, it is best that you try to anticipate any changes that may occur so that appropriate accommodations can be made for them in the mold ahead of time.
Q.: I do not have a drawing of my product only its general idea how it will look like. Can you help and build the mold ?
A.: We are able to help also with product design.
Q.: Can you only design a mold for me?
A.: As mold manufacturers it is not desirable for us to make only designs so we can take such order only as an exeption.
Q.: We have a mold which was made by another moldmaker and it needs a serious repair. Could you do it for us? This way we could check your competence in the field before we decide to place an order for a new mold.
A.: The best solution to have a mold repaired is to order it in the toolshop where it was manufactured. It happens very rarely, but we were also repairing molds made by others. Recently Dukheung invested in a new 250 ton die spotting press which makes mold repairs easier and much faster so we can undertake such task, too.
